Dump Truck, Structure Fire Breaks Out South Of Downtown

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Crews were called out after reports of a large fire at a commercial fire south of downtown Salt Lake City.
The fire started around 6:45 a.m. Saturday near 300 West 700 South.
Captain Anthony Burton with the Salt Lake City Police Department said firefighters arrived to find intense smoke coming from the building.
As firefighters worked to put out the flames on items in the building, they discovered there was a dump truck or some kind of large utility vehicle burning, producing thick, dark smoke.
Crews were able to extinguish the flames. The extend of damages to the vehicle and structure was not available.
Burton said one firefighter had “very minor injuries” to a leg. It was unclear if the person was transported to the hospital for treatment as a precaution.
