1 dead, 2 hurt in high-speed car crash on Timpanogos Highway

ALPINE — One person is dead and two others are seriously hurt following a car crash on the Timpanogos Highway.
Lone Peak Police spent much of the night investigating the crash, which happened just before 10 p.m. near 11000 North and 5300 West.
Officers said the driver of a car tried to turn left right in front of a pickup truck.
The truck slammed into the car, killing the passenger.
The drivers of both vehicles were taken to the hospital with moderate to severe injuries. They are expected to survive.
