LAYTON, Utah – Utterly violated is how Sara said she felt after seeing a man recording her through a gap in a bathroom door. She said it happened multiple times at her workplace, 2950 N. Church St. in Layton, within the last month.
“We saw him at least once or twice a week. He had no reason to be there,” she said. “The way he acted, it triggered that something is not right.”
In one instance, she said her coworker had an encounter with the man while coming out of the one-stall bathroom.
“She opened the door and next thing you know he was four inches away from her face,” said Sara, who declined to share her last name.
That is when she followed the man, got a license plate number and gave it to police.
Police arrested Gregory Shack, 53, on five counts of misdemeanor voyeurism on Tuesday, and now believe there are additional victims.
Investigators said they received a report about Shack being near the women’s restroom at the medical facility in Layton several times over the past few months. Several different women told the officers that a man had been on a bench outside the restroom and each time they went in and closed the door, they would see shadows and movement.
Detectives interviewed Shack and said he’d been using his cell phone to record video of several different women under the bathroom door. They believe this happened in Layton, Bountiful and possibly other places.
