Family of Elizabeth Salgado wants justice

PERRIS, Calif. – The biggest question in Rosemberg Salgado’s life has finally been answered.
He knows where his missing niece is. Now, though, that answer only leads to an even bigger question: who?
“It’s very, very hard. We don’t know how to survive through this,” Salgado said, while sitting on his couch in his living room in Perris, Calif. “Why would anyone take her life away? It’s so evil.”
The family was notified last night from law enforcement investigators, letting them know the body of Elizabeth Salgado had been found in Utah County’s Hobble Creek Canyon.
“I just don’t understand why would anybody take her life away? She was such a beautiful girl,” said Salgado through sobs and tears, his voice breaking on nearly every word.
He has traveled to Provo, Utah, many times to search for her after she disappeared there in April of 2015.
Salgado did whatever he could to keep her name and face in the news and was always making sure he was near his phone.
“Just in case someone would call me and give me a lead and say, ‘Hey, we found your niece.’ I was always hoping that,” he said.
Now, though, no more searches are necessary, at least not for her.
“We’re not going to be in peace until we find out who it was. And if you’re watching this and you’re the one who did it, just know we’re going to find you. We’re going to find you,” he said through tears. “We have the best investigators. We have the FBI. We have other investigators that are helping the Provo Police Department. We have the Lord, which is the most powerful. He can do anything. Even if you hide very good, he can find you.”
He believes investigators will solve this case, just as he has faith his niece is now in a better place where no one can hurt her.
But he also knows there will never be a good answer to his question as to why someone would kill her.
“Everybody loved my niece. She was just the best girl in the world,” Salgado said. “When I had a bad day, she would be like, ‘Uncle, don’t worry about it. Our heavenly father is going to bless you because you’re a great guy.’ I miss her so much.”

Elizabeth Salgado’s mother and father live in Mexico.
The family is trying to get everyone together to go to Utah.
As for a funeral, though, her uncle said there is no hurry.
He knows investigators are going through every little detail, and possible evidence, on her body and at the scene.

That’s something the family doesn’t want to rush.
“We won’t have peace until we find out who did this, and we have justice for my niece Elizabeth,” Salgado said.
