West Jordan Police investigating shooting death of burglary suspect

WEST JORDAN, Utah – Police were called out to a West Jordan home after they said a resident shot and killed a burglary suspect.
The incident happened around 5:30 a.m. Friday.
Officer Scott List with the West Jordan Police Department said three adults and a child were sleeping in their home near 7600 South 6800 West when they heard their garage door open and their dogs starting to bark.
Officials said the 26-year-old homeowner grabbed a gun and went to investigate. There was reportedly some kind of altercation with a woman he found in the garage, where he shot and killed her.
Investigators were still working to gather evidence. The family was taken to the police department for questioning.
The woman’s identity was not released.
