BOISE, Idaho – A little bit of kindness in a time of tragedy goes a long way.
It’s been one week since a man took a knife to a child’s birthday party in Idaho and stabbed nine people, six of them children.
Yesterday, while first responders were back at the scene evaluating their response, the Boise Fire Department decided to check on the mother of 3-year-old Ruya Kadir. Kadir died from her injuries.
They wrote in a post that they asked if there was anything they could do. They said Kadir’s mother mentioned she wanted to plant a garden to honor her daughter.
After working with the property owner and getting donations they helped plant a memory garden.
“It’s something small we can do for someone who lost so much,” they wrote.
