OGDEN, Utah – Ogden police were investigating Friday what they characterized as a suspicious death of a child under the age of 5, but later updated the characterization to homicide.
Lt. Chris Kovalsky said officers arrived after 4 p.m. to the Madison Manor Apartments at 2434 Madison Ave. to find a 10-month-old boy somewhere inside the building.
“All child deaths we investigate as suspicious deaths, so they are all classified that way,” Kovalsky said.
Police did not say how the child died or where inside the apartment building the child was found.
The infant’s biological father, Alex Hidalgo, 37, has been booked on investigation of aggravated murder and obstruction of justice, Captain Danielle Croyle with Ogden Police Department confirmed.
