SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Springville has some hometown representation on tonight’s “World of Dance” on NBC.
Utah’s own Charity Anderson and Andres Peñate, both 18, have been dancing together on and off for a decade, and they’re putting their skills on show as they go up against 16-year-old Vivian Ruiz from Miami.
“When I saw that call for auditions last summer, I knew we needed to enter,” Peñate told KSL in May.
“I am so glad we got to pair up this season,” Anderson said. “The first season, I was obsessed with it, and so the experience — just being there seeing everyone — it was like ‘wow.’”
Both teens have dance roots in the Beehive State. Peñate hails from Legacy Dance Studio in Orem, while Anderson’s experience comes from training with her family, who owns Charisma Dance Studio in Springville.
Featured judges Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough and NE-YO are sizing up the team.
The team is performing contemporary dance in the Juniors category of “World of Dance” Season 2.
