KAYSVILLE, Utah – Authorities have identified two women — one killed and the other critically injured — who were struck by a vehicle in Kaysville Thursday morning.
Kaysville Police said they responded to the scene at Main Street and Nicholls Road where Lori Morgan and Andrea Snarr, both Kaysville residents, had been hit as they were crossing the street. The two were not at a crosswalk.
Morgan died at the scene, and Snarr was transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital. Officials said multiple vehicles may be involved, but at least one van is part of the investigation. Other drivers were still being questioned Thursday.
Kaysville Police Lt. Kenton Pies said the crash could be due in part to the time of day and the weather.
“It was still dark. We just received some rain at this point, too, and that could be a contributing factor,” he said. “Until we receive more information, we won’t be able to determine that.”
Due to rain, police had placed white tents at the scene to preserve any evidence while they worked to determine what exactly took place. Main Street at Nicholls Road was closed until approximately noon.
The driver of the van is cooperating with the investigation.
