Unified Police Department Mourns Loss of Sgt. Cory Peterson

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – A Unified Police Department Sergeant has died from medical-related issues.

A spokesperson for the department says Cory Peterson had been with UPD for 10 years and was recently promoted to sergeant at the Midvale precinct.

“Our hearts ache as we say goodbye today to one of our own. Our thoughts and prayers are with Cory’s family, he will be greatly missed.”

We’re told he was a great guy who was so giving and generous. Funeral services are still being planned by his family.
