SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utahns are showing a big turn-out for the midterm elections both in mail-in ballots and at the polls. Voters are waiting in lines across the state, and politicians are encouraging people to wait it out and make their voices heard. We’re updating election coverage on this page throughout the day.

Over 767,000 Utah ballots have already been processed.

To help voters in long lines feel better, volunteers in Eagle Mountain polling locations passed out cookies.


There were problems at some polling locations, as broken machines were causing delays.



A party is planned for tonight honoring Senator Orrin Hatch, the longest-serving Republican Senator in U.S. history.


Voter turnout already surpasses the 2014 midterm election, with polling places still open for five more hours.

To feed hungry voters waiting in line, “Pizza to the Polls” showed up to deliver more than 2,300 pizzas.


It’s not a presidential election this year, but the Utah Jazz remind us of some great Karl Malone/John Stockton signs!
