President Trump Says, ‘Mia (Love) Gave Me No Love, And She Lost’

WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Donald Trump has called out Utah Representative Mia Love on her results in the midterm elections, saying, “Mia gave me no love, and she lost. Too bad.”
At a news conference in the White House East Room on Wednesday, Trump crowed members of the House, where the GOP lost.
Utah’s 4th Congressional District, where Love ran against Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams, was too close to call on election night, although the Democratic challenge ended the evening with 51 percent of the vote.
As of Wednesday evening, McAdams led Love by just over 5,000 votes with some ballots yet to be counted.
Love has served two terms in congress.
“Sorry about that, Mia,” Trump said.

Love’s campaign put out a statement after the remarks, saying it was too close to concede defeat.
“There are still tens of thousands of ballots still to be counted. Nothing has changed,” said spokeswoman Sasha Clark.
Statewide there were 278,141 ballots that have not been processed, according to the Utah State Elections Office. Two counties in the 4th Congressional District had a large portion of those outstanding ballots, however it was unclear how many of the ballots would effect the close race between McAdams and Love.
In Salt Lake County, the clerk’s office has received 99,740 mail-in ballots and 16,353 provisional ballots that still need to be counted. Totaling 116,093 outstanding ballots. Salt Lake County plans to update results on Thursday and Friday.
In Utah County, 70,600 mail-in ballots were awaiting processing along with 18,310 provisional ballots. Making up a total of 88,910 uncounted ballots. Utah County will wait until Friday to do its next update.
The president called out other Republican candidates who he apparently felt did not support him enough, and lost congressional seats in the midterm elections as a result.
Rep. Mike Coffman in Colorado blamed his loss on resentment from voters toward Trump in his Denver-area district. The president responded: “Too bad, Mike.”
Trump credited his vigorous campaigning for stopping a so-called, “blue wave,” ”if there ever was such a thing.”
The GOP was expected to add to its Senate edge, but Democrats regained control of the House.
