SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Hundreds of Utahns joined nationwide protests Thursday in support of the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.
This followed the president’s apparent firing of former Attorney General Jeff Sessions this week.
Protesters said they feared the worst for special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation.
Organizers of the protest said Matthew Whitaker, who is set to take over as Attorney General for the time being, has been an ally to the president and a critic of the investigation.
They’re calling this a conflict of interest and are calling for him to recuse himself.
