SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The 2nd annual ‘Scarfs in the Park’ kicked off at Liberty Park Saturday.
Over 1,300 handmade items were donated to help people. Last year the group received 380 items, so this time around they have more than tripled that amount.
Around 9 a.m. Saturday morning a group of volunteers met on the west side of Liberty Park and hung up scarves, hats, and mittens for those in need during the cold winter months.
These items are tied to the fence and available for anyone who might need them. They are all free and handmade by members of the community.
Volunteers make these items, tag them, and then hang them up on the first Saturday of December.
If you are interested in helping this group, they need volunteers who can start working on crocheting for next year.
