LOGAN, Utah – Community members have rallied to the side of a Cache County mother who lost her husband in a crash with a drowsy driver over the holidays.

Early morning workout sessions at The Studio in Logan were met by a somber theme on New Year’s Eve. All three classes were organized to help support one of their own – Jordin Seamons – who lost her husband Devin in a crash on the way to a family Christmas celebration on December 23 just outside Logan.

“Jordin is a member here, at The Studio, and we have just become like family,” said studio owner, Sharli King. “All the women that come and exercise here just love her so much. When we heard, we were just heartbroken.”

In addition to a $5 fee, people attending Monday’s classes left cash donations in a bowl, and their thoughts for Seamons in cards.

Officials with the Logan Police Department said a drowsy driver veered into an oncoming lane and collided with the Seamon’s vehicle head-on. At just 29 years old, Devin Seamons was killed. Devin and the couple’s 2-year-old daughter had only minor injuries.

“(We’re) just doing everything we can to support her, and show her that we love her,” said Katie Davis, an instructor at the fitness center. “She’s very loved here.”

While King said she initially set up one class for the fundraiser, it eventually grew to three because of the number of people who wanted to help.

“It’s great. I’m so happy with how it’s turned out, and grateful,” King said. “We thought, you know, the one thing we can do is help her to stay home with (her) sweet 2-year-old, and help her float by when it’s going to be hard for the next little while.”

While the fundraiser has ended, a GoFundMe page has been set up for the Seamons family. The Studio also has a Venmo account set up for the same purpose, at @TheStudioLogan.

According to their Facebook page, Cache Valley Bank posted on their Facebook page that they have agreed to match donations received.
