CEDAR CITY, Utah – Authorities arrested a man who they said had more than $200,000 worth of cocaine in his vehicle.
According to arresting documents, a Utah Highway Patrol trooper pulled over Nathan Anthony Walker, 27, on I-15 in Iron County for following too closely to another vehicle on Monday.
The vehicle was a rental, and Walker had implausible answers for his travel plans, according to the report. After the trooper “observed evidence of possible criminal activity,” he called for a K-9 unit, which showed positive indication.
The trooper located approximately five pounds of cocaine and a pound of raw MDMA in a suitcase in the trunk of the vehicle, the affidavit states. The cocaine was estimated to have a streat value of $227,000.
Walker was booked on two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of arranging for distribution of a controlled substance.
