SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – A Duchesne school principal confiscated a gun from a student before classes began Thursday.
The sheriff’s office said the student was in the back parking lot of Altamont High School doing doughnuts. When the principal approached the car, he saw a pistol in the student’s hand.
The principal reportedly quickly took the gun away without incident. The school was not placed on lockdown.
The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday posted on its Facebook page that “there may be incorrect information circulating in the community and on social media” about the incident.
