Victim In Orem Shooting Dies; Police Continue Search For Gunman

OREM, Utah – A man who was shot and left in critical condition Thursday night died from his injuries Friday, police said.
The victim has not been identified at this time. Police are still looking for the suspected shooter.
The shooting happened outside a doorway at the Parkway Lofts Apartments, 1225 W. 1000 South, which are in the vicinity of Utah Valley University.
Officials issued a shelter-in-place Thursday night following the shooting, but it has since been lifted.
Authorities are looking for suspect Elbert Paule, 19. He is described as being 5 feet, 8 inches tall and was last seen wearing a long-sleeved, yellow sweater. Paule was reportedly seen running from the area following the shooting.

Paule and the victim reportedly know each other and are possibly friends.
The gun used in the shooting was recovered, but police are unsure if the gunman has any other weapons.
Lt. Trent Colledge with the Orem Police Department said officers believe the shooter lives near the scene, and his whereabouts are currently unknown.
Police said there is no immediate danger to the public, but they ask anyone who sees Paule or anything suspicious to call the Orem Police Department at 801-229-7070.
No one else was hurt in the shooting.
