SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Tuesday announced it is making changes to its major websites to reflect the “correct name” of the faith.
The changes come after The Church first announced new name guidelines on Aug. 16, 2018, when President Russell M. Nelson released a statement on the importance of the belief’s title.
To better align with the name the Lord has given to His Church, the names of many of the Church’s global communication channels will be changed. https://t.co/Ihufh6tby5 pic.twitter.com/0RnLmbrQGf

“The Lord has impressed upon my mind the importance of the name he has revealed for his church, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,” the statement read.
The updated website titles include The Church’s official page, which will become ChurchofJesusChrist.org (previously LDS.org); and the news media website, which will become Newsroom.ChurchofJesusChrist.org (previously MormonNewsroom.org).
The changes will also affect mobile apps, social media accounts, and email domains.
