Police Arrest Driver Of RV That Reportedly Crashed Into Multiple Cars

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – Police have arrested a man who they said hit several vehicles with a motor home Monday before crashing it and fleeing the scene.
According to arresting documents, Oliver Eugene Byars, 52, was driving eastbound on 3500 South when he struck a vehicle and a hospital pole before crossing into oncoming traffic, hitting three more vehicles and crashing into a power pole.
He then fled on foot, according to the report.
Police located Byars Tuesday, and he reportedly admitted to hitting the vehicles and then fleeing from authorities.
Byars was arrested for investigation of accident hit-and-run with injuries, driving with an open container, operating a vehicle without insurance and driving on a denied license. Police reportedly found two bottles of alcohol inside the RV.
