EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah – The Utah County Sheriff’s Office is investigating 20 cases of car break-ins in Eagle Mountain.
Deputy Roger Lowe said the reports started coming in on March 16. Said all the cars broken into were unlocked, parked either on the street or in a driveway.
“These guys aren’t looking to make noise, they’re not looking to cause any big scenes,” he said. “They just want to go through and go for the easy targets.”
Police said vehicles were broken into along Sandpiper Road, Sparrow Hawk Way, Hutch Lane, Red Kite Way, Snowy Owl Road, Wilson Way and Cottage Lane.

As of Thursday night, police were looking to speak to the driver of a white passenger car with black trim caught on several home surveillance cameras near the break-ins.
As for the property stolen, police said wallets, purses, credit cards, loose change were taken – but the most alarming items stolen are guns.
“We have had three guns stolen. A pistol, a shotgun and a 22 have all been stolen,” Deputy Lowe said. “Those are very concerning to us to know those are out there right now.”
Police are urging residents to lock their car doors especially if they park outside. If you have any information about the burglaries or see anything suspicious, contact the non-emergency dispatch at 801-794-3970.
