SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Supreme Court will hear arguments Monday about whether it was legal for lawmakers to rewrite and approve the replacement for the voter-approved Proposition 2.
Prop 2 legalized the use of medical cannabis in Utah. The Utah Legislature passed the Utah Medical Cannabis Act in December 2018 to replace Proposition 2.
Former Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson and the group The People’s Right have filed suits asking the court to reinstate the original ballot initiative.
