BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah – A Brigham City woman who failed to return home after making a drive from Eureka, Nevada, to her home in Utah has been found alive nearly one week later, authorities said.
Michelle Richan reportedly left Eureka March 19 but never made it home, her family said.
At approximately noon Tuesday, Box Elder County workers found Richan as they were traveling onto Emigrant Trail Road. Richan’s vehicle was reportedly stuck in the mud.
Officials report she is in good condition and had plenty of water and food in her car and she was either in the process of or had already built a fire to keep her warm.
Richan’s daughter, Kaylee Vaughan, said her mother is tough and independent. She is known to keep a week-long survival kit in the trunk of her car.
