Clearfield Gas Station Fight Leaves One Customer Dead

CLEARFIELD, Utah — Police confirmed today one man has died after a physical altercation between a customer and the store owner at a Chevron gas station in Clearfield.
Clearfield Police Department identified the customer who died as Brandon Stufflebean of Layton, Utah. He was 39 years old.
The fight took place yesterday when an argument over the purchase of a drink escalated, according to authorities.

Police said the victim, Stufflebean, was punched once in the face and was transported to the hospital in extremely critical condition.
He passed away this afternoon at the hospital.
Multiple witnesses and the store owner have been interviewed by police and are cooperating.
Police are calling this an active investigation and said there may be criminal charges.
