MAGNA, Utah – A SWAT situation at a Burger King had roads closed all night after officials say a man barricaded himself in a bathroom and fired shots from inside.
The situation was resolved Wednesday morning, and Joshua B. Williams, 36, was taken into custody, according to Unified Police Department.
It began at the Burger King located at 8443 W. Magna Main St., when management contacted police at approximately 11 p.m. Tuesday to report a person had been inside the bathroom for more than an hour and wouldn’t come out. When Unified Police arrived, they say they encountered Williams, who pulled out a gun and pointed it at officers.

Authorities said they were able to contain him to the restroom while other officers began evacuating employees and customers both at the Burger King and nearby businesses.
Williams refused to listen to commands, officials said, and began firing shots from inside the restroom.
There was a large police presence at the site, and officials had canceled classes at nearby schools as no resolution was in sight.
However, just before 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, police were able to take Williams into custody.
