WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — A man was found with fatal injuries lying on the road Tuesday morning in West Valley City, he was apparently run over, but police didn’t know by who.
The deceased was 20 year old Hairon Freyre-Portuondo — his body was discovered by a passerby.
Friday, West Valley City Police announced they had arrested Keirsten Tomasini on charges of manslaughter, failure to remain at an accident involving serious injury and two other felony charges.
Anthony Borge was also arrested and booked into jail for obstruction of justice after it was determined he was a passenger inside the vehicle that hit Freyre-Portuondo.
WVCPD said they determined through their investigation that Tomasini had been driving the truck that hit the victim.
The truck Tomasini was driving at the time had been reported stolen April 1st.
Investigators believe there had been some sort of dispute with Freyre-Portuondo in the vehicle.
He got out of the truck while it was moving, fell to the ground and was hit.
Tomasini was aware he had been hit, but fled the scene and failed to attempt to render aid or call for help for Freyre-Portuondo.
