WEST HAVEN, Utah – Officials from West Haven are reminding residents to be mindful of what they put in their drains.
“At the risk of grossing out the public, we’d like to share what was found in one of our sewer pumps this morning. 80% of this mess is “flushable” wipes, 10% is hair, and we’ll leave the remaining 10% to your imagination,” a Facebook post with a photo read.
The post included items that should not be flushed, including “flushable” wipes, hair, feminine products, and prophylactics. Other items that should not go into a disposal because they cause trouble during treatment include potato peels, eggshells, coffee grounds, and grease.
