Man Serving Church Mission in Mexico City Dies From Asphyxiation

MEXICO CITY, Mexico – A 19-year-old Texas man serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints died from asphyxiation in Mexico City due to what appears to be a faulty water heater in his apartment, Church Spokesman Daniel Woodruff released in a statement.
According to the release, the water heater was located near the shower. Carr’s companion was not harmed.
Carr’s mother, Caroline, posted on Twitter.
My beautiful, wonderful son has passed away.
He was only 19. He was serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mexico.

Hey everyone, I just got a call letting me know that my brother Andrew passed away serving his mission in Mexico City. Iām not going to be on my phone for the next while.

Carr is from Fort Worth and had been on his mission since October 2018.
