WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – It was a close call for a bowling alley employee overnight when shots were fired after a road rage incident, officials said.
West Valley City Police Lt. Bill Merritt said the incident happened just after midnight at Delton Lanes, 3544 W. 3500 South, where the employee was outside spraying down the parking lot. A vehicle then reportedly came speeding through and almost hit the worker.

That employee said he sprayed the car and shouted for the driver to slow down. The driver of the vehicle then reportedly exited and fired a gun twice in the air. One of the occupants of the car allegedly threw a beer bottle at the employee. The bottle hit and broke one of the bowling alley’s windows.
No one was injured. Police recovered two shell casings at the scene.
Authorities believe the alleged shooter was driving a stolen car and may have been involved in a beer theft at a gas station earlier in that night.
