SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Fire crews responded to a blaze at Mountain View landfill overnight.
The incident happened just after midnight in the area of California Avenue and 6000 West.
Firefighters eventually passed the suppression efforts to landfill employees. Crews stayed on scene to ensure the fire didn’t spread beyond the perimeter of the dump.
Officials said fires at that location aren’t uncommon, and they usually just let them burn out.
