Man Sustains Gunshot Wound In West Valley City Incident; Police Searching For Suspect

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – A man was shot in the buttocks and transported to the hospital Thursday after an argument, police said. Police are searching for the shooting suspect.
According to the West Valley City Police Department, authorities responded to a call of people arguing in the area of 2500 Lake Crest Drive. Witnesses reported seeing four men in a black BMW arguing with another man outside the car.
While en route, police received reports of shots fired. Witnesses said they saw the male outside the car fire multiple shots into the BMW before fleeing. Witnesses also reported that the BMW fled the scene.
An officer spotted the vehicle and attempted to pull it over, police said. The car fled and officers pursued it onto Redwood Road where it blew a tire at approximately 1800 South. There were reportedly four people inside the car, one of whom had been shot in the buttocks.
The only description of the suspect at this time is that he was wearing a red sweatshirt. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact West Valley City Police at 801-840-4000.
