Four People Injured After Firework Lands Near them During Utah Summer Games in Cedar City

CEDAR CITY, Utah – Four people were injured Friday night after a firework landed near them in an area outside of the Southern Utah University Eccles Coliseum during the Opening Ceremonies for the Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games, Nikki Koontz, executive director of marketing communications, said.
The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. and Koontz said those injured were treated by medical staff at the games.
She said three individuals were taken to Cedar City Hospital in a private vehicle. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time and an investigation is underway.
