Magnitude 6.4 Earthquake Hits Off Northwestern Japan; Tsunami Warning Issued

SAKATA, Japan – A magnitude 6.4 earthquake hit the northwestern area of Japan, according to the US Geological Survey.
A tsunami warning was issued following the quake, which could bring water as high as 3 feet along the Japan’s northwestern coast, officials said.
The earthquake was located approximately 30 miles southwest of the city of Sakata.
