Early-morning Crash Causes Hazmat Situation; Driver Of Car Flees On Foot

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – Police are looking for the driver of a car that crashed into a semi-truck and created a hazmat situation early Monday morning.
The crash happened at approximately 1 a.m. on northbound Redwoood Road at the SR 201 interchange.
According to police, a Chrysler 300 ran a red light and struck the truck, which was hauling two trailers. The impact caused diesel to leak from the truck, and a hazmat team was dispatched to handle the fuel.
The driver of the Chrysler fled the scene on foot.
The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
