Provo’s Grand Parade Is A Utah Favorite On The 4th

PROVO, Utah – Independence Day celebrations are taking place all across the Beehive State Thursday, including in Utah County for America’s Freedom Festival.
The Grand Parade, as it’s called, kicked off at 9 a.m. and featured some of the KSL News team along with many other amazing floats and people in the community — as well as celebrity Chuck Norris.
The parade is one of the largest in Utah, drawing 300,000 parade goers, including folks who camp out overnight to assure they have a spot.

“It’s been fun,” said one celebrant. “We’ve been here since about 5 o’clock yesterday morning staking out our spots.”
For most, it’s tradition to camp, but you never know what you’re going to get.
“The sprinklers in our area decided to pop up and give us a little visit,” the parade watcher said.
The parade helps get people into the spirit of what Independence Day.

“I just want to do as much as I can to celebrate this great country because I’m really proud to live in it,” said Lindsay Evans. “And I’m just happy to be here.”
Following Freedom Days festivities, the “Stadium of Fire” event, starring Keith Urban, will take place at the LaVell Edwards Stadium in at Brigham Young University.
