SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Saturn’s going to be close — very close.
It’ll be so close that you’ll be able to see it with the naked eye, and, according to Space.com, you might be able to see its rings if you have a telescope or binoculars.
“July will be a great month to view the rings of Saturn,” according to Space.com’s Joe Rao. “You can see them in any telescope that magnifies to at least 20 power, but the larger the aperture and the sharper the image, the more detail you can make out.”
Saturn will rise above the east-southeast horizon at sunset.
The ringed planet will also make an appearance close to the nearly-full moon on July 15.
