MAGNA, Utah – An 18-year-old was critically injured and a family had to leave their home after a crash early Saturday morning in Magna.
Unified Police said the teen was driving west on 3500 South at a high rate of speed around 2 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle and it crashed into a house.
Yenifer Pasaye was one of several people inside the home. She said she was watching TV in another room when the vehicle came through her bedroom wall.
“All I heard next was this big boom. The ceiling from the other room just came down immediately, so we were just like, ‘Oh my gosh, what happened’,” Pasaye said.
The crash damaged her bedroom and the bedroom upstairs. No one inside the house was seriously injured, but the driver was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition.
“The house, we can easily just move to another one or do something to this one. We just care about people not getting hurt and we hope that the person that’s in the hospital right now is doing well,” Pasaye said.
Unified Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
