DRAPER, Utah – A 37-year-old driver was in critical condition Sunday night after troopers said the Dodge Ram van he was driving veered across all lanes southbound on I-15 at 13300 South. Troopers said the van hit a concrete barrier all the way to the left before veering back to the right and hitting a Nissan Sentra.
There were two people in the Sentra and troopers said no one was injured.
The driver of the van was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. He is expected to survive.
Impairment is being looked into as a possible factor for the crash, troopers said.
I-15 was closed at 12300 South for 15 minutes while troopers diagrammed the scene. The freeway has since reopened.
