Gas Leak Forces Evacuations Of Hundreds In Salt Lake

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — A gas leak at a Salt Lake City apartment building forced evacuations of hundreds Friday evening, officials said.

Residents at 4th West apartments, located at 255 N. 400 West, were evacuated close to 10 p.m. and sent across the street to West High School, according to Salt Lake police. A Dominion Energy crew detected high levels of gas in the building, fire officials said.

The road was shut down between North Temple and 300 North.
