BOUNTIFUL, Utah – The Gun Range Fire forced hundreds of residents from their homes early Friday.
Impacted residents can call 801-298-6294, 801-298-6297, or 801-298-6299 for information and instructions.
Officials set up locations for evacuees to take shelter.
“An evacuation center is something we open up when something like this happens, when we don’t have the details of how many people are effected – if it’s going to be long term or they’re going to stay somewhere for days at a time versus a couple of hours,” said Kristen Stewart with the American Red Cross.
For people unable to make it to the shelters, the Red Cross is trying to reach them.
“We have a crew that’s basically going with our trailer and dropping off water and snacks – and a few cots, especially because it’s so early so people can rest until they hear word of the evacuations,” said Stewart.
The first location is the Bountiful Tabernacle of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 55 S. Main St., Bountiful.
The second location is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1540 N. 400 East in Bountiful.
