Neck Fire Grows To 17,800 Acres; Blaze 15% Contained

LUND, Utah – The Neck Fire has burned an estimated 17,800 acres in Iron County in its first 24 hours.
The Neck Fire was reported Thursday around 5 p.m. about eight miles north of Cedar City. It has burned 3,500 acres by then.
It was 15% contained as of Friday afternoon and officials have not determined a cause.
Officials said six fire engines, two large air tankers, four small engine air tankers, one helicopter and 100 personnel are assigned to the fire.
Additional resources have been called in to fight the fire due to its complexity, according to officials.
Sagebrush and grass were fueling the fire and no closures have been reported.

Wildfire Watch
In Tooele County, the Green Ravine Fire grew to 2,117 acres and was 80% contained as of Thursday afternoon.
The Snoqualmie Fire, which was burning near Layton, burned 128 acres and was 100% contained by Friday night.
#SnoqualmieFire is now 100% contained. Firefighter will patrol the fire area through the weekend. Closures are expected to be lifted by Monday.
