WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – No one was injured after shots were fired on the Granger High School campus, according to officials.
Ben Horsley with the Granite School District said the incident at the school happened Friday.
The shots were fired during the third quarter of a football game between Granger and Hunter High School, but Horsley said the shots were not fired in the area of the football field.
“Most of the patrons at the football game were unaware that anything had occurred,” he said.
Eight suspects were in custody and were being transported for processing, according to Horsley.
Four Granite School District officers were on scene to assist with security at the game and immediately responded to a call at the school from West Valley City Police officers.
Horsley said the incident appeared gang-related.
