Fire Marshal Grants Lake Mountain Middle School Partial Occupancy

SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah – Students will be allowed into Lake Mountain Middle School Wednesday after the State Fire Marshal granted the building partial occupancy.
The marshal told school officials the division between the occupiable areas and construction areas was among the best he has ever seen.
The announcement came almost a month after students across the Alpine School District went back to school in August.

Students and parents can visit the school Tuesday night from 5-to-7 p.m. and parent-teacher conferences will be held on September 26.
A video tour of the school will also be posted to the school’s Facebook page.
School officials recommended parents avoid driving students to the school until Founders Boulevard is completed in the area.
Bus routes and safe walking routes were listed as alternatives for students to get to school.
Parents said the new school will help alleviate congestion at nearby Vista Heights Middle School.
Officials said construction was delayed due to a wet spring and delays at other projects. Originally, the school’s opening date was pushed back from August 20 to September 10.
Students used a combined format of online learning and open lab time at Vista Heights while the school was not occupiable.
