One Person Hospitalized After Salt Flats Car Fire

WENDOVER, Utah – One person was hospitalized after a car burst into flames at the Salt Flats.
Police said the fire happened Sunday night and still images from body camera footage showed a vehicle completely engulfed in flames.
Officials were initially told occupants were trapped in the car; Wendover Police officers attacked the flames with a fire extinguisher and later confirmed no one was in the vehicle.
The injured driver had already climbed out of the vehicle, according to police. The driver was then airlifted to Salt Lake City.
No update on the driver’s condition was available and police had not established a cause for the incident.
