SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – It’s not just you – that drive-thru line is moving slower.
On average, fast-food drive-thru lines are 20 seconds slower this year, according to a study from QSR Magazine. Of the top fast-food chains, Chick-Fil-A had the longest wait.
The study found that customers spent about 255 seconds from the time they order at the speaker to the time they pick up their food at the window.
At Chick-Fil-A, the wait is 322.98 seconds, according to the report. The fastest on the list was Dunkin’, with an average wait time of 216.75 seconds.
The reason? Chick-Fil-A’s food is in high demand, so their lines are constantly crowded, according to QSR. The brand is on the lookout for ways to streamline the service, though. You may have noticed some locations utilizing employees with tablets who take orders and payments from customers waiting in the drive-thru line.
