HARRISVILLE, Utah – Schools in a portion of the Weber School District were put on temporary lockout Thursday while authorities responded to a report of a parole violation in the area, police said.
According to the Harrisville Police Department, agents from the Weber Morgan Narcotics Strike Force responded to the area of 2500 North and Charleston Avenue at the request of Adult Probation and Parole.
Officials observed an alleged parole violater who was “observed pushing a motorcycle from the garage,” according to a post on the HPD Facebook page.
“Contact was made with the subject and commands were given to stop,” the posts states. “The offender made his way back into the home and barricaded himself inside.”
During the incident, area schools were placed on lockout as a precaution.
Harrisville police responded as well as police from Pleasant View and North Ogden departments. The Ogden Weber SWAT team was called to the scene, and when it arrived, the parolee surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody.
