SPANISH FORK, Utah — Utah Highway Patrol troopers said a crash with injuries has closed both directions of U.S. Highway 6 in Spanish Fork Canyon.
Troopers said a dump truck pulling a flatbed trailer drifted off the right westbound shoulder of the highway.
As the driver swerved back, the trailer caught the lip of the pavement and rolled, which forced the dump truck to whip across the road and land on the railroad tracks on the south side of the road.
Officials said the trailer rolled and landed on the north side of the road.
According to police, an eastbound minivan with two occupants was hit by either the truck or the trailer and landed upside down next to the railroad tracks.
Officials said both minivan occupants were transported to the hospital with injuries while the driver of the dump truck suffered minor cuts and scratches.
Troopers said they will run alternating traffic and will have to close both lanes when crews arrive to remove the commercials vehicles.
