SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah – A fire completely destroyed a home in South Salt Lake overnight, authorities said.
South Salt Lake Fire Department Battalion Chief Blaine Daimaru said crews responded at approximately 1 a.m. Thursday to the area of 500 East and 2700 South.
Firefighters were unable to extinguish the blaze before it engulfed the home, though, and the residence is a total loss. Authorities estimate the total damage at $275,000.
The man who lives at the house was treated at the scene. Daimaru said his injuries were not significant, and he wasn’t transported to the hospital.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
