DAVIS COUNTY, Utah – Two people died Saturday after a wrong-way crash on Legacy Parkway in Davis County, according to Utah Highway Patrol Sergeant Lawrence Hopper.
“We don’t know how they got the wrong way to begin with, we don’t know if they were coming through the median, on-ramp, or off-ramp. We will be talking to the driver of the wrong-way vehicle and hopefully get some answers,” Hopper said.
Hopper said the crash happened around 11:30 a.m. near milepost 10 on Legacy Parkway. He said a Toyota Camry was driving northbound in the southbound lanes and hit a silver Nissan Sentra head-on. He said the crash killed a man in the backseat of the Camry, and a passenger in the Sentra also died at the scene.
Police later identified the victims as 38-year-old Destry Hone of Spanish Fork and 19-year-old Gissell Enciso of West Valley City.
The crash remains under investigation.
