SANDY, Utah – Union Middle School will remain closed Monday as fire crews continue to work on clean-up after an electrical fire shut the school down on Thursday, Canyon School District officials tweeted Saturday.

Jeff Haney, the public information officer for Canyons School District, originally said the school would be closed for the day and class was expected to be back in session by Friday.

Union Middle School is located at 15 E. 8000 South.
